SONG FOR A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
by Larry Norman
From the album In Another Land
Submitted by W.G. Hulbert (jbranyan@holli.com)
Intro: 2 measures fingerpicking the G chord, with a C on the 5th string (next to the thinnest) on
approximately the end of beat 2 of each measure, then back to normal for beat 4. This is
also true for the 1st and 3rd lines of the verses. Sounds confusing, but if you're familiar
the song you should know what I mean.
Special chords: Am7: Am with a G on the 6th string (pinky on 3rd fret)
Asus: Same as A chord, but with pinky down on B string, 3rd fret
G A Asus A
Well my life is filled with songs but I just could not get along without my friends.
Am7 D G
And I'm happy now but when this good life ends I know a better life begins.
G A Asus A
And love to you Sir Stonehill armed with your axe full gallop on your amp.
Am7 D G
You're so crazy and you know it but I love you as we both crawl toward the lamp.
Em A
With Clapton on guitar and Charlie on the drums,
Am7 D
McCartney on the Hofner bass with blisters on his thumbs.
G A Asus A
Dear Bobby watch your fears all hide and disappear while love inside starts growing.
Am7 D G
You're older but less colder than the jokes and folks you spent your childhood snowing.
G A Asus A
And Someone died for all your friends but even better yet He lives again.
Am7 D G
And if this song does not make sense to you, I hope His Spirit slips on through, He loves you.
G A Asus A
He loves you, He loves you,
Am7 D G
And if this song does not appeal to you, I hope His Spirit slips on through, He loves you.
G A Asus A
He loves you, He loves you,
Am7 D G
And if this song does not make sense to you, I hope His Spirit slips on through, He loves you.
